Levon Ter-Petrosyan would never pay the price paid by Serzh Sargsyan for the reopening of the Armenian-Turkish border – consigning the Armenian Genocide to oblivion," Levon Zurabyan, Office Coordinator, Armenian National Congress (ANC), told reporters today, responding to an observation that the Armenian authorities’ positions on the Armenian-Turkish relations are similar to that of Ter-Petrosyan.

He pointed out that the circulation of this viewpoint is “a merely foul means of propaganda.” Zurabyan said that Ter-Petrosyan was establishing relations with Turkey, but he would never agree to the formation of a committee of historians. “The Zurich process of consigning the Armenian Genocide to oblivion is an accomplished fact. Turkey got what it sought – removal of the issue of the Armenian Genocide from international agenda without even ratifying the protocols,” Zurabyan said.

The ANC member expressed the confidence that President Serzh Sargsyan is unable to rectify the mistakes. Under the circumstances, he has nothing to do but make new concessions on Nagorno-Karabakh. “Turkey has won this diplomatic game – no Armenian leader has ever given it such a present. The only way of improving the situation is overthrowing the Serzh Sargsyan regime by means of national protest,” Zurabyan said.
