Researchers have managed to make an accurate map of active lakes under the glaciers of Antarctica, The NASA press service reported.
The researchers used NASA’s Ice, Cloud and land Elevation Satellite 2, or ICESat-2, to compile a new map of "active" lakes beneath Antarctic glaciers. A study of large amounts of new data from space has revealed two new reservoirs under the Mercer and Whillans ice streams.
