Azerbaijani community started negotiations with the Turkish one to prevent Armenia-Turkey border opening, Elsever Mamedov, the chairman of the congress of the Azerbaijanis of Benelux.

“We hold talks with Turkish and other communities in Europe. Turkish organizations protest against Armenia-Turkey border opening. We should act tolerantly to avoid political problems”, Mamedov stated. According to him, the Protocols’ signing on resumption of the diplomatic relations between Armenia and Turkey does not imply border opening.

Meanwhile, the President of the Congress of Georgia's Azerbaijanis chairman Ali Babayev said they already negotiated with the regional Turkish parliamentarians. “Azerbaijani community hopes for Turkey not to leave its fraternal country in a difficult situation during the talks. We told them Armenia-Turkey border will not open unless Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is settled.”
