The head coach of Armenian national weightlifting team, Honored Master of Sports, 51-year-old Ashot Mkhitaryan died suddenly from a heart attack at the Zvartnots airport. Mkhitaryan had arrived at the airport to meet the Armenian youth weightlifting team returning from the European Youth Weightlifting Championship in Valencia, RA National Olympic Committee press service informed NEWS.am.

Ashot Mkhitaryan had been training the Armenian weightlifting national team since 2006. The Armenian athletes won three bronze medals at the Olympic Games in Beijing, and dozens of victories at European Championships and various international competitions.
