Mark Zuckerberg announced on his Facebook page that the core values of Meta changed and updated the company's slogan.

The head of Meta said that the current values were defined back in 2007. While they have proven surprisingly durable, a lot has changed in that time. Now, he stated, the company is a meta-universe, creating the future of social connections.

Thus, Meta has a new slogan, "Meta, Metamates, Me". The slogan, as The Insider notes, is a reference to the naval proverb "Ship, shipmates, self," meaning that the ship always comes first, then its crew, and then each crew member individually.

“Meta, Metamates, Me is about being good stewards of our company and mission. It’s about the sense of responsibility we have for our collective success and to each other as teammates. It’s about taking care of our company and each other,” Zuckerberg explained.

Finally, he emphasized that values are not just something that's written on a website, but something that everyone is accountable for to each other.
