Jordan is easing coronavirus-related restrictions on foreign visitors, taking a key step towards reviving its critical tourism industry, AP reported.
The Jordan tourism board has said that as of March 1, visitors will no longer be required to take a PCR test before entering the country or take another PCR test upon arrival at airports and other points of entry.
Visitors will still be required to sign a commitment to get tested if they develop symptoms of the coronavirus and agree to self-isolate if they contract COVID-19.
Jordan's troubled economy relies heavily on international tourism and has been hit hard by the pandemic.
Countries around the world are lifting coronavirus restrictions as the wave of the highly contagious omicron variant recedes.
