The covid certificates required for attending public events and crowded places have been abolished in Bulgaria since Monday.

The corresponding decree of the Ministry of Health of the country, presented on Thursday, came into force.

Also on Monday, higher educational institutions resumed full operation, but the requirement to regularly ventilate and disinfect the rooms where classes are held has remained in force. In addition, students and teachers are still required to wear protective masks.

The next step of the sanitary authorities in the program to cancel the restrictions will be the cancellation of compulsory testing for Covid-19 for schoolchildren, scheduled for the end of March, TASS informs.

In Bulgaria, a country of about 6.5 million people, 472 new cases of coronavirus infection have been reported in the past 24 hours, and 10 patients have died, none of whom were vaccinated. The total number of covid deaths has reached 36,282. There are 2,201 patients being treated, 255 of whom are in intensive care units. About 2.05 million citizens were fully vaccinated.
