A new Chess Academy was opened in Yerevan October 20. President of Armenia and RA Chess Federation Serzh Sargsyan, Mayor of Yerevan Gagik Beghlaryan , President of Weighlifting Federation Samvel Khachatryan and grandmasters Levon Aronian and Vladimir Hakobyan attended the opening ceremony.

“Four-nine years old children nay attend the Academy. We give the kids time to reveal their talents and abilities, however if they do not meet our expectations they will have to leave. Although there are six instructors now in the Academy, we need more as we already have classrooms,” said Vice-President of the Chess Academy, grandmaster Smbat Lputian.
