Yesterday statement by Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davotoglu discredited the idea that Armenia-Turkey Protocols contain no preconditions, the Leader of New Times Party Aram Karapetyan said at Oct. 22 interview with the journalists.
According to him, Oct. 21 debates in the Turkish Parliament proved that Armenian authorities have no repeat.
“There are three preconditions in Armenia-Turkey Protocols: Genocide negation, impossibility to put in territorial claims and Karabakh conflict resolution for Azerbaijan’s benefit. Turkey assifies Armenian authorities and will do its utmost to force Armenian side to ratify Kars Treaty,” Aram Karapetyan noted, adding that New Times Party will also appeal to Constitutional Court demanding Protocols’ non-ratification.
Everyone, including Armenian authorities is concerned over the documents’ ratification, he assured. The scheduled secret balloting in the RA National Assembly proves the fact.
According to Karapetyan, the Protocols’ ratification in Turkish Parliament depends dramatically on the U.S. pressure. However, in any case the documents will not be ratified by Turkish side unless there is a momentum in Karabakh issue.
