Global oil prices are rising on Monday morning.

Investors are waiting for news about restrictions on imports of Russian energy carriers, also assess the prospects for demand from China and the situation with the detention of Greek tankers by Iran, according to trading data.

The price of August futures on Brent grew by 0.77%, to $116.45 per barrel. July futures on WTI grew by 0.88%, to $116.08.

Earlier this week, the EU heads are meeting in Brussels for an extraordinary summit to discuss restrictions against Russia. The bloc's countries have been unable to agree on a sixth package of sanctions against Russia for about a month, which involves, among other things, the introduction of a full or partial embargo on Russian oil supplies.
