The lion's share of a special fund of 100 billion euros, which Germany is allocating to rebuild its armed forces against the backdrop of the war in Ukraine, will go to the needs of the air force.

As reported by Reuters, the document provides for the allocation of 40.9 billion euros for the development and purchase, including new fighters Eurofighter and F35 and the successor to the combat aircraft Tornado, and also the creation of a space-based early warning system.

The document notes that other allocations of 19.3 billion euros to the navy and 16.6 billion euros to the army will be spent on the purchase of new ships and submarines, as well as on the development of a successor to the Marder infantry fighting vehicle.
