US Secretary of State Antony Blinken told reporters in Bangkok on Sunday that Russia's restriction on Ukrainian grain exports may have contributed to the unrest in Sri Lanka and expressed concern that it could provoke other crises, Reuters reported.

According to him, the consequences of Russian aggression are manifested everywhere. It could contribute to the situation in Sri Lanka, he added.

He again urged Russia to allow some 20 million tons of grain to leave Ukraine.

He said it was also reflected in Thailand, where fertilizer prices have skyrocketed because of the blockade.
