RA Ombudsman’s office prepared a new report on March 1 events, mainly covering post-electoral trials, Armen Harutyunyan stated at Oct. 23 interview with journalists. He also mentioned that presently the report is being translated and will be available to public shortly.

In response to journalist’s comment that the report publication was delayed and contains connection with OSCE pending report, Ombudsman said that the outcome of his staff work will be presented earlier.

Referring to international structures’ assessments on registered setback in respect for human rights in Armenia, Harutyunyan said, “The situation is as unsatisfactory and deplorable, as was before. No progress is achieved in any field. We all are to be blamed for this.”

Ombudsman also stated that his office will observe closely trial over Haykakan Zhamanak Chief Editor Nikol Pashinyan, as well as violation of human rights during the protest actions against Armenia-Turkey Protocols. Harutyunyan assured he will provide feedback on the facts.
