Belarus expects to receive about $2 billion from Russia for joint projects in the field of import substitution, President Alexander Lukashenko said. Earlier, $1.5 billion was allocated to Minsk for participation in import substitution programs, Kommersant reports.
At the first Eurasian Economic Forum, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced financial support to Belarus. On June 9 this year, Alexander Lukashenko announced that Russia would allocate $1.5 billion to Belarus for the country's participation in import substitution programs.
On July 1, Putin, speaking at the forum of the regions of Russia and Belarus, said that work on the implementation of 28 union programs of the two countries, agreed in September 2021, is going “rhythmically and on schedule”, and 40% of the necessary procedures for integration have already been completed. In August, Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko spoke about the republic's plans to build a port in northwestern Russia. The specific coordinates of the port facilities were not named, but it is known that Minsk plans to use them to export Belarusian products.
