Armenian men and women national team scored a splendid triumph in the second round of European Team Chess Championship in Novi Sad, Serbia.

Men team defeated Romanian chess players (2.5:1.5). Levon Aronian won Andrei Istratescu, Vladimir Hakobyan — Dieter Nisipeanu, Gabriel Sargsyan — Vladislav Nevednichy and Gergely Szabo-Arman Pashikyan games ended in a draw.

After the second round the standings are as follows: Armenia, Hungary, Spain, Serbia-1, Germany, Azerbaijan, Israel and Georgia (5.5 points each).

Armenian national team will face Serbian chess players in the third round of the championship.
