Yerevan Mayor Hrachya Sargsyan has promised the residents of Haghtanak neighborhood of the Malatia-Sebastia district to set up a working group that will deal with resolving the problem of these residents. Gegham Vlasyan, one of the aforesaid residents who attended this meeting with the mayor, told reporters about this on Monday.

A group of residents of the Haghtanak neighborhood today held a protest in front of the Yerevan city hall, and demanded to be allowed to privatize the areas they had received back in the 1990s.

The head of Malatia-Sebastia district Sasha Katvalyan, in his turn, said that a task has been set: the residents shall make a complete inventory of their problems by next Thursday in order to find out how many residents have what kind of problems. After that, the entire package will be submitted to the mayor of Yerevan in order to find solutions.

"If there are no real actions, we will continue the protests," said another Haghtanak neighborhood resident who attended the aforementioned meeting.
