UAE authorities have demanded that Netflix remove offensive content for children.
According to Gulf News, the state Telecommunications and Digital Regulatory Authority (TDRA) and the Media Regulatory Authority have issued a joint statement asking Netflix to remove content for children that violates the country's media broadcasting rules.
The content in question is offensive, child-oriented content that contradicts social values and violates the UAE's media broadcasting regulations.
Both organizations said they will monitor the platform's commitment to broadcasting content that complies with UAE broadcasting regulations.
They will take necessary measures against Netflix if it broadcasts content that contradicts social values and does not comply with the country's rules and laws.
Offensive content, including sexually explicit and violent content, is prohibited in the UAE.
