According to the Human Development Index (HDI) compiled by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), the living standards in nine out of ten countries have deteriorated in 2021, Deutsche Welle reports.

According to the new ranking - the most developed country in the world with a score of 0.962 in 2021 was Switzerland. On the second and third lines - Norway and Iceland (0.961 and 0.959).

Germany has dropped five spots since 2015 and is in ninth place with a 0.942 score.

The United States, which led in the first edition of the index in 1990, is now only in 21st place (0.921).

Russia (0.822) was ranked 52nd and Ukraine (0.773) was ranked 77th. Armenia is on line 85, Azerbaijan - 91, Georgia - 63, Turkey and Iran - 48th and 76th, respectively.
