A long-lived man from the United States celebrated another birthday and named three main principles of a long and happy life, WINK-TV reports.
Harold Schaller of Maples, Florida, was born Sept. 7, 1916. He was a participant in World War II and started a family afterward. He said his wife and children were the most precious thing in his life.
When asked what the main secret to longevity was, Schaller replied, "Don't die." The 106-year-old man also advised young people not to grow old and the secret of marital happiness he called the ability not to argue with his wife.
The longtime resident of the nursing home celebrated his birthday surrounded by friends and family. He ate a big plate of spaghetti and meatballs at a festive dinner and hoped to throw the same party on his 107th birthday in 2023.
