European Union members have not yet decided on common solutions to the energy crisis, Spanish Energy Minister Teresa Ribera said, Reuters reported.

"Although progress is being made at an unprecedented speed within the usual EU parameters, we are far from being able to clearly identify solutions that can be sustained over time," Ribera said, adding that more flexibility and solidarity among member states is needed.

EU countries are divided on how to resolve the issue ahead of a summit scheduled for Thursday and Friday, which will be dominated by the energy crisis.

Some countries, such as Spain, want to limit wholesale gas prices, others, such as Finland and Slovakia, oppose direct subsidies, while Germany proposes joint purchases, reducing consumption and increasing supply.
