The UN has promised the Russian Federation that it will soon be able to lift restrictions on the export of Russian food under the grain deal. Russia's first deputy permanent representative to the UN, Dmitry Polyansky, said this in a commentary to Izvestia published on Monday.

The UN is promising us that there is about to be a result, the diplomat said.

Polyanskiy, according to the newspaper, noted that the UN has time to fulfill its obligations before November 18 - this date has been set as a 'logical deadline' for the current deal.

On November 2, Russia decided to resume its participation in the grain deal after Ukraine, with the mediation of the UN and Turkey, guaranteed in writing that it would not use the security corridor in the Black Sea for military purposes, the Russian Defense Ministry said. At the same time, Moscow said it reserves the right to withdraw from the agreement if Kiev violates the guarantees it has given.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Thursday that Moscow was satisfied that Ukraine had signed such security guarantees with Ankara's help, but still sees no result on the second part of the package of agreements concerning the removal of obstacles to Russian fertilizer and grain exports.
