The authorities of San Francisco have launched a program of state support for low-income transgender people. They will be paid 1.2 thousand dollars (72.5 thousand rubles) monthly for a year and a half. Guaranteed income will help reduce social inequality, reports Fox News.
Now the authorities are accepting applications from those wishing to receive benefits. Program participants will also be provided with medical and psychological care.
In the future, income security will be available to non-binary, gender nonconforming and intersex black or Native Americans, as well as Hispanic seniors, sex workers, and other categories.
