ŽILINA, SLOVAKIA. – On an away match, the Armenian national football team recorded an impressive victory over Slovakia.

With a score of 4-0, the Armenian team clearly improved its standing in Group B of EURO 2012 qualifiers. Triumph of the Armenian national footballers began with Yura Movsisyan’s goal in the 57th minute into the game, then Henrikh Mkhitaryan doubled the score at the 70th minute, next, Gevorg Ghazaryan’s goal came at the 80th minute, and, in the final minute of the match, Arthur Sarkisov scored the fourth and final goal.    

Two games remaining in the qualifiers, Armenia has garnered 14 points and equalized with Slovakia. Armenia now remains only 3 points behind the group leader, Russia. Ireland is in second place, with 15 points, and Armenia is third.     

After the qualifiers, the 1st-place team will directly participate in EURO 2012, whereas the 2nd-place national team will have to play extra games to receive the second “ticket” for EURO 2012.
