YEREVAN. - Apparent or secret competition of Armenian three presidents can be the axis of upcoming parliamentary elections in 2012, independent MP Viktor Dallakyan stated at the parliament on Tuesday.
According to Dallakyan, those political powers, who will win dominating seats in the new parliament, will preferably get more chances in the presidential elections in 2013.
“Besides, the upcoming parliamentary elections will bring an activity in the society and political powers respectively. This gives a hope that they will be held in more civilized manner,” MP stated.
Armenia will have the upcoming parliamentary elections in May 2012. Armenian ruling Republican Party headed by the President Serzh Sargsyan may be counterweighted to the main opposition power, Armenian National Congress headed by former president Levon Ter-Petrosyan.
