Peru has practically not supplied copper to the market since January 3 amid protests and unrest in the country, Vedomosti reported.

The shortage of metal on the world market is associated with the unrest and protests that have been going on for almost two months in Peru, the publication noted.

According to the newspaper, the copper mine Las Bambas, which is owned by Chinese company MMG, blocked by protesters. Antapaccay Glencore Plc. is also experiencing some difficulties with mining.
