YEREVAN. – Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan attended on Thursday the official opening of a new velodrome in capital Yerevan’s Malatya-Sebastia community. Construction of the velodrome, which meets all modern-day standards, had begun in June 2010, the Presidential Press Office informed Armenian News-NEWS.am. 

During the tour ensuing the opening ceremony, it was informed that, with its architectural solutions and 250-meter-long course, the velodrome built by the Italian Renco company in order to develop cycling in Armenia, is consistent with modern-day international standards. The velodrome is built to hold 3,200 spectators, and it can host international competitions and other events.
