Unique classic sports car Shelby 427 Cobra 1966 put up for sale, Motor reported.

Cobra is traditionally appreciated by fans of American cars, but put up for sale in the U.S. a particular instance of Shelby 427 Cobra is also a historical value. 

The 1966 Shelby 427 Cobra is one of 998 Cobras produced and one of 343 Cobra 427s with coil springs. 

The car has changed several owners over its lifetime, has been noted for racing at iconic American circuits Laguna Seca Raceway, Road America and Watkins Glen, changed body colors and been in accidents. The Shelby 427 Cobra was black from the factory, then it was repainted red, and eventually the car turned out to be dark blue with white stripes.

This was the coloring chosen by the penultimate owner of the sports car, Jim Farley, president of Ford, who paid tribute to his 289 Cobra. Farley sold the car to Axl Rose, the lead singer of the rock band Guns N 'Roses, and he has carried his memory in his new car.
