The Georgian Foreign Ministry condemns the meeting of the President of the Republic of Belarus with representatives of the occupation regime, reads a statement issued in connection with the arrival of the President of Abkhazia, Aslan Bzhania, in Belarus.
According to the Georgian Foreign Ministry, the action is "an attempt to legitimize the Russian occupation regime," reports Georgia Online.
"The mentioned action is a gross violation of Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity within the internationally recognized borders and is an attempt to legitimize the Russian occupation regime.
We call on Belarus to respect Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity within its internationally recognized borders and to cease its actions that run counter to the fundamental principles and norms of international law," the statement reads.
The day before Aslan Bzhania arrived in Belarus for talks with President Alexander Lukashenko.
