The world's largest coffee chain Starbucks said it is launching a line of drinks with olive oil in Italy. It was announced on the company's website.
Starbucks currently has about 20 stores in the country.
The Oleato range, which will launch Wednesday in Italy, includes iced espresso and olive oil lattes steamed with oat milk.
Cold brew coffee will also be introduced.
Olive oil is a key component of the Mediterranean diet, associated with countries such as Italy, Greece and Spain.
Its health benefits are due in part to its monounsaturated fatty acids, which contain vitamins and minerals, as well as polyphenols, micronutrients derived from the plant.
The company also plans to introduce a range of hot and iced drinks in Southern California stores in the U.S. this spring. The U.K., the Middle East and Japan will be in the plans later this year.
Starbucks is one of the largest U.S. companies facing obstacles trying to enter the Italian food and beverage market.
