Pope Francis has canceled one of his February 23 audiences and did not speak at other scheduled meetings due to a bad cold. This was reported by the Vatican, according to Reuters.

As the agency noted, the Pope's meeting schedule included audiences with three groups and four individuals.

He did not read prepared speeches at two of the group meetings that took place, and a third group meeting with Italian youth was completely canceled, the Vatican said.

According to Reuters, this was to be the last audience of the day, indicating that the cold had worsened in the morning and that the pope was feeling too ill to hold it.
