A Maryland resident in the U.S. state of Maryland won a $50,000 lottery prize when she accidentally bought the wrong ticket from a machine, UPI reports.

The 43-year-old Salisbury resident told Maryland Lottery officials that she was using a self-service lottery machine at Royal Farms in Salisbury when she tried to buy a $2 scratch ticket and accidentally bought a different ticket.

According to the American, her disappointment was replaced by elation when she discovered she had won $50,000 thanks to the ticket.

She said she was still in shock when she visited lottery headquarters Thursday to claim her prize, adding that she had no plans for her winnings yet.
