YEREVAN. – Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan on Tuesday met the delegation of European Parliament headed by EP Vice-President Libor Rouček.

President Sargsyan welcomed the visit of EU delegation on the occasion of 20th anniversary of Armenia’s Independence, president’s press service informs Armenian News-NEWS.am.

“Along with the strengthening of the state for 20 years, Armenia developed its relations to European structures. Armenia’s European integration process has carried a firmer character recently,” Serzh Sargsyan said.

The close cooperation with European Parliament is of great importance. European structures and EU in particular is not only an important partner for Armenia in external politics and trade-economic sphere, but also in cooperation aiming to realize a reform, Sargsyan said.

The sides mutually stressed the importance of cooperation within the Eastern partnership, aiming to the development of the region, stability of cooperation and achievement of well-being.

Rouček congratulated Sargsyan for the 20th anniversary and said that the progress is apparent. He stressed the importance of European integration and assured that Armenia will get the necessary aid on its way to integration.
