The referendum on the amendments to the Constitution of Uzbekistan was declared valid, Deputy Chairman of the Central Election Commission Bakhrom Kuchkarov said, Gazeta.uz reports.
"We are witnessing high voter turnout," a CEC representative says.
Per Article 38 of the Electoral Code of the Republic, a decision is recognized as adopted at a referendum if more than half of the citizens vote for it.
