YEREVAN. – UEFA president Michel Platini called European states to assist in preserving European football values threatening sport.

Before deciding on Euro 2012 transfer matches, Platini had an unofficial meeting with sport ministers of European states in Krakow, Poland. He called them to take measures to preserve the rules of a fair match.

Platini is concerned on match-fixing.

“European football is infected with moral illness, which has deep roots,” Platini stated. “The situation is inadmissible as rumors on match-fixing are getting wide spread. I mean the sport gambling, which is threat for a match. It is more threatening as it shakes the bases of modern societies. It is a rude violation to organize match-fixing. Thus, the interference of authorities is quite justified.”
