YEREVAN. - Within the framework of his work visit to Switzerland, Armenian National Assembly (NA) Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan met, at the Armenian Embassy in Geneva on Tuesday, with Swiss-Armenian businessman and benefactor Vartan Sirmakes, who is Co-Founder and CEO of Franck Muller Company.

During the meeting, Abrahamyan presented to Sirmakes the state award granted to him by Armenia’s President Serzh Sargsyan, NA Press Service informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.    

With the President’s decree and marking 20th anniversary of Armenia’s independence, Vartan Sirmakes is awarded with the “Services Rendered to the Motherland” 1st-Degree Medal for his significant contribution to the preservation of Armenian identity, services rendered to the Motherland, and great role in strengthening friendship between Armenia and foreign countries.        

Hovik Abrahamyan congratulated Mr. Sirmakes for receiving this award, and underscored his patriotic activities and contribution to strengthening Armenian-Swiss friendly ties. 

In his turn, Vartan Sirmakes expressed gratitude for highly evaluating his activities, noting he will continue to do everything to be useful for Armenia.
