At today’s IBF championship press conference, bantamweight boxers Joseph Agbeko and Vakhtang (Vic) Darchinyan commented on the 11 July fight results and spoke of their future plans.

The fight lasted 12 bruising rounds and resulted in judges twice scoring 116-111 and 114-113 in favor of Agbeko. “Darchinyan shoved me in the 7th round and kept punching and pushing me during the fight. His fight is rude and dirty. Today I was fighting against two rivals: Darchinyan and the referee. But that didn’t matter for me today, it was my time to shine and retain my championship even if there were five rivals. Darchinyan kept talking a lot before the fight. As I promised, I showed him he is a chatterer. I am still a champion and not a chimpanzee as he said. I want to be considered the best world boxer regardless of weight class. I think I deserve it,” Agbeko said.
