Armenian Grandmaster Levon Aronian was defeated by Boris Gelfand in the sixth round of Mikhail Tal Memorial in Moscow.
After the sixth round the standings are as follows: Vladimir Kramnik (4.5 points), Viswanathan Anand (4), Boris Gelfand and Vassili Ivanchuk (3.5 points), Levon Aronian and Magnus Carlsen (3 points each), Ruslan Ponomariov (2.5), Alexander Morozevich, Peter Leko and Peter Svidler (2 points each).
Aronian will face Kramnik in the seventh round of the championship.
