Israeli Minister of Strategic Affairs Ron Dermer met with US President-elect Trump in Mar-a-Lago, Florida, on Sunday, according to two Israeli officials and two US officials with knowledge of the meeting, Axios reports.
The purpose of the visit of the Israeli minister was to deliver the messages of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to Donald Trump.
Also during the meeting, Dermer tried to find out what issues the US president-elect would like to address before his inauguration and what issues he would prefer to postpone until taking office, the American official informed Axios.
Among the topics that the Israeli side would like to discuss with Trump, the sources noted the settlement of the situation in Lebanon, the plan for Gaza after the end of hostilities, as well as efforts to normalize relations between the Jewish state and Saudi Arabia.
It was noted that the Israeli PM had previously informed incumbent US President Joe Biden's administration about Dermer's meeting with Trump.
