The main theory of those publications is that Armenia or I need to start a war against Azerbaijan for internal political reasons, while any observer can see that it is beneficial for us, and specifically me, for the situation in the region to be stable. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, stated this during the question-and-answer session with the government at the National Assembly of Armenia on Wednesday—and answering ruling majority faction MP Tigran Parsilyan’s question about the purpose of the fake news being disseminated in the Azerbaijani press that as if Armenia was preparing for war against Azerbaijan.

"The publications you pointed out prove that there are forces interested in destabilizing the situation in the region. Our response should be the following: First, we should not give in to provocations, and then we [i.e. Armenia] should constantly clarify our position.

“First, we have no reason to attack Azerbaijan because we have taken another legal step at the political level and have mutually recognized each other's territorial integrity. Even our National Assembly has ratified the regulation of the joint work of the border delimitation commissions, and we shall soon start the border delimitation process in the next sector.

“I rule out any action by Armenia that will be aimed at destabilizing the situation in the region. More than 200 square kilometers of our country are occupied [by Azerbaijan], but we declare that a task of solving the issue of those territories by military means is not on our agenda and will not be," added Pashinyan.

Also, the Armenian PM expressed hope that the work on the draft of the peace treaty with Azerbaijan will intensify because 90 percent of the respective work has already been done, and all that remains is to sign this treaty.
