On May 11, the law of Armenia on identity documents was adopted, and it provides for the introduction of a new biometric system of identity documents in Armenia.

Due to the introduction of this new system and in order to carry out the respective transition process, passport issuance (exchange) services through Armenian embassies and consular offices, including via video link, will be temporarily suspended starting from October 5.

Additional information on the dates for the resumption of these services will be published on the official information platforms of the Armenian diplomatic service agencies.
