U.S. officially sent a request to Iran asking for return of the drone which was shot down in the east of Islamic Republic on December 4, said Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
“We submitted a formal request for the return of our lost equipment, as we would in any situation to any government around the world.
Given Iran’s behavior to date, we do not expect them to comply, but we are dealing with all of these provocations and concerning actions taken by Iran in close concert with our closest allies and partners, starting with the UK,” she said during the joint press conference with UK Foreign Secretary William Hague on Monday.
However, Iran rejected the request saying it is part of Islamic Republic’s assets. Iran’s Defense Minister Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi said the country will decide about future measure, Fars agency reports. He also added that Iran can build unmanned aerial vehicles as well and they will identify and intercept targets.
