Armenia-Turkey Protocols’ signing implying the reconciliation is a bold diplomatic move of both countries’ leadership, said German Ambassador to Armenia Hans-Jochen Schmidt at the November 13 press conference.

Asked whether he sees a linkage between the reconciliation and Karabakh peace process, the Ambassador replied that Armenia-Turkey rapprochement will affect positively Karabakh issue settlement. The Diplomat considers the sooner Protocols are ratified by the Parliaments, the better. Turkey might prove its will and interest in stability on the South Caucasus through ratification. Schmidt also underlined that South Caucasus plays crucial role in eastern policy of EU. According to the Ambassador, in this respect, cooperation of three regional countries is of utmost importance.
