We are trying to bring the ideas of statehood, independence closer to our people. This was noted by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on Wednesday within the framework of the 5th annual International Religious Freedom Summit in Washington, D.C.

To be citizens of an empire and to be citizens of an independent democratic country are two different things, and Armenians have not had an independent state for several centuries. But 30 years ago, Armenia began to create its independence and is in the process of making its democracy stable and institutional. Armenia strives for democracy, which shows that democracy has a great future in Armenia, said the PM.
