We always highly assess the possibility of escalation and have no right to relax, Armenian National Assembly speaker Alen Simonyan told reporters Tuesday.

He noted that Azerbaijan, while purchasing billions of dollars worth of weapons, accuses Armenia of purchasing several armored vehicles.

Also, the speaker of the parliament expressed Armenia's readiness to sign a peace treaty with Azerbaijan. According to him, Armenia does not intend to mislead anyone, and this is obvious to all international partners.

"Yerevan proposes specific mechanisms to Baku and is ready to discuss them. Armenia's goal is to establish peace. The accusations made by Azerbaijan against Armenia have nothing to do and cannot have anything to do with Armenia. I do not think that the negotiations have reached a deadlock, we continue to work on the issues of border delimitation and demarcation," Simonyan noted.

But he reminded that Azerbaijan has not responded to Armenia's proposals for three months now.

"Baku's behavior raises serious concerns. We are talking about this with all our international partners. It would be good if Azerbaijan continued its participation in the peace process," emphasized the speaker of the Armenian legislature.

Simonyan noted that he did not want to voice the proposals that Armenia sent to Azerbaijan, since he does not have the right to do so. At the same time, however, he did not rule out that Azerbaijan's current behavior may be related to the aggravation of its relations with Russia.
