Mikhail Tal Memorial chess tournament ended in Moscow. Armenian Grandmaster Levon Aronian defeated Viswanathan Anand (India) in the final round of the tournament.

The results of the 2nd round are as follows: Leko-Carlsen (0:1), Ponomariov-Morozevich (1:0), Ivanchuk-Kramnik, Svidler- Gelfand games ended in a draw.

The standings of the tournament are as follows: 1. Vladimir Kramnik (6 points), 2. Vassili Ivanchuk (5.5), 3. Magnus Carlsen, 4-5. Levon Aronian, Viswanathan Anand (5 points each), 6. Boris Gelfand (4.5), 7. Ruslan Ponomariov (4), 8. Peter Svidler (3.5), 9-10. Peter Leko, Alexander Morozevich (3 points each).

Levon Aronian will take part in World Blitz Chess Championship 2009 in Moscow.
