Yes. We must work with Turkey. We are working with Turkey and will continue to work. Speaker of the National Assembly (NA) of Armenia, Alen Simonyan, told this to reporters at the NA Tuesday.

“I regret that Azerbaijan has taken the relations between Armenia and Turkey, the issue of the Armenian-Turkish border, the issue of the normalization of Armenian-Turkish relations ‘hostage’ and is attempting to have an influence [on the matter]. This is very bad. I believe the relevant officials of Turkey also realize this,” the Armenian NA speaker said.

Simonyan noted that Armenia has shown with its positions that it is ready for peace.

“We hope that Turkey, seeing these steps, will also begin to express its position more clearly,” he added.

Alen Simonyan noted that at this phase, no country has the role of moderator, and Armenia and Azerbaijan are largely able to achieve what they want thanks to direct negotiations and direct conversation.

The Armenian parliament speaker added that he assesses his recent meeting with his Turkish counterpart in Geneva as very positive.
