The identities of those who died in the explosion in a residential building in Chambarak town of Gegharkunik Province of Armenia have been determined.
Accordingly, they are: Roza Vardanyan, born in 1937; Rita Sargsyan, born in 1949; Roza Movsisyan, born in 1935; and Hrachya Lazaryan, born in 1963.
First deputy mayor of Chambarak, Robert Ghukasyan, informed Armenpress that rescuers have recovered the bodies of four of the five missing persons from the rubble.
Rescuers are currently searching for Artur Sargsyan, born in 1971.
Earlier, Armenian News-NEWS.am reported that at 8:34am on Wednesday, the crisis management center of the Gegharkunik provincial rescue department of Armenia received a report that a fire had broken out in an apartment in a building in Chambarak town.
According to preliminary data, a natural gas explosion had occurred in an apartment on the third floor of the aforesaid building. As a result, the apartments on the fourth, third, and second floors of the building collapsed. And apartments in the adjacent entrance of this building partially collapsed.
The Investigative Committee of Armenia has launched criminal proceedings into the Chambarak explosion.
