On Friday, Indian investigators discovered the digital flight data recorder (black box) of the Air India plane that crashed, resulting in the deaths of 241 people on board and several on the ground, authorities told the Associated Press.

The Boeing 787, en route to London, crashed into a medical college dormitory in the city of Ahmedabad on Thursday, just minutes after takeoff.

The plane’s black box was found on the roof of a building near the crash site.
