The Israeli military suppressed air defense systems in western Iran and in the Tehran area, giving its air force freedom of action in the skies over the Iranian capital. This claim was made at a briefing by the official representative of the Israel Defense Forces, Brigadier General Effi Defrin.

According to him, during the night, more than 70 Israeli air force aircraft carried out strikes on targets in Tehran, including suppressing local air defense systems. “The road to Tehran is open. We attacked more than 40 targets: missiles and advanced air defense systems across Tehran, as well as launchers and control centers,” he said at the briefing. “Tehran is no longer protected. The capital is vulnerable to Israeli strikes,” the general claimed.
