The Iranian embassy in Armenia has issued a statement in response to the statement of the US embassy in Armenia.

The US embassy’s statement had warned American citizens not to approach Iranian government-related institutions in Armenia, including the Iranian embassy and the Blue Mosque in Yerevan, as well as the Iranian consulate in Syunik Province.

Pooya Hosseini, a staff member of the Iranian embassy in Armenia, posted the embassy’s statement on his Facebook account.

“In the name of God Almighty

Considering the statement of the US Embassy in Yerevan dated June 16, 2025, some of whose points relate to the Islamic Republic of Iran and Iranian institutions in Armenia, we hereby inform that the said statement raises suspicion and is a continuation of the psychological and media action campaign of the Government of the United States of America in support of the illegal armed attack on the territory of the Islamic Republic by the Zionist regime [i.e. Israel]. Their objective is to create an atmosphere of suspicion and danger around Iranian institutions in Armenia, while at the same time being an attempt to have a negative impact on the brotherly, friendly, and deep relations between the Armenian people and the Islamic Republic of Iran and its institutions.

Condemning this misleading and interventionist step of the US Embassy, we remind that the country whose [diplomatic] mission its represents [in Armenia] has a long history of interfering in the internal affairs of other countries. We would like to remind the US Embassy that its misleading and outdated methods do not represent any value in our friendly and neighboring country, Armenia. The bond between the people of Armenia and the Islamic Republic of Iran is inseparable," notes the Iranian embassy in Armenia in its statement.

On June 13, Israel attacked Iran, and this was followed by retaliatory measures by Iran. Military actions between the two countries are continuing to this day.
